Find one of these Stop Work Notices on the front door of the project you’ve almost “got away with”?
Often it takes a little bit of “negotiating” and clarification/documentation of what you’re doing to get the project “back on track”.
The permit process can be daunting due to the number of seemingly useless details that the “technocrats” need to allow you to even apply for the building permit you initially didn’t think you needed.
Now that you’re “caught”, “they” have you on their grounds.
All the i’s need to be dotted and the t’s need to be crossed.
I’ve been called upon to “fix” a distressingly large number of these…and been successful with most…
My experience with navigating the city’s “rules” can begin to make this situation tolerable.

It’s much better ( cheaper / safer / politically correct ) to get the permits in the first place…
